Malinda’s Liver and Onions (A Recipe for Life)

Have you ever met someone that was so amazing words just couldn’t possibly do them justice?

Someone who, despite pitfall after pitfall, could maintain a positive outlook on their own life and still give freely of themselves to everyone around them?

That’s Malinda, through and through.

Now, I realize that 90% of the people reading this have no idea who Malinda even is, let alone the story behind this post. Feel free to browse around her place and you’ll see in a matter of minutes the kind of wonderful spirit she has – a spirit that refuses to be broken.

Even in light of the fact that she is now in dire need of a liver transplant.

This is Malinda. I don’t mean just the picture itself (because, well, that part would be pretty obvious), but the smile.. that is her. No matter what life throws at her, she can always muster up a smile that just begs you to smile right along with her.

I’m not going to go into the details of her disease here. You can find all that information on the website that has been set up for her.

But I will tell you this: she’s an amazing mother, a devoted and loving wife and the kind of friend that anyone would be lucky to call their own.

Even though Malinda and I don’t get the opportunity to talk nearly as often as we used to, she was always there as a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen and for that, I am eternally grateful.

I know, even now, she is a shoulder to lean on for many.. even when she’s hardly got the strength to hold herself up, she tries valiantly to hold up others.

Now it’s time for some payback.

When she sent me the link to her site and asked me to pass it around, it was the least I could do for her. After all, if anyone deserves this chance, it’s Malinda. I’ve never met someone so in love with life and so bursting with optimism through anything that comes her way.

There aren’t too many people you can say something like that about.

Trust me when I say that the world could use a few more Malindas.

She’s one of a kind, though, so, please, let’s help keep this one right where she is.
